I know, I know...its been nearly two weeks since my last post, and we really do have a lot going on, but none of it is ready for a finished post. I am redoing the kids' bathroom and Christian is helping me build a table to for our entry hall. Hopefully I'll have pictures of both projects by this weekend.
Unfortunately, I have also had to deal with migraines this week. I don't generally have problems with headaches, but they're getting bad and they're really slowing me down. So, again, hopefully by this week I'll be done with this, too.
Don't they look happy? This is a post-vacation picture of some very exhausted kids. So where did we go? To Ohio, of course, to visit Jonathan and DeAnn, and see their new house. I didn't get a picture of the house, but I did get a few nice shots of the nearby nuclear power plant (aka the "cloud maker"). Cute, huh? It is so nice to have family near enough to travel to for a weekend. The kids played hard, while the adults did a little work around the houses (wall-mounted the tv and, ummm....very little else). DeAnn and I got to go to the movies and running at the Y, and we all had a date night thanks to 2 very brave babysitters. Good times had by all. Oh, and we love the brand-spanking new house.
Ooops...no pictures of the boys! Guess we'll have to go again soon...
The other night Christian and I tried something very new. We heard through some friends of ours about Contra dancing--sort of a mix between country square dancing and Jane Austen-style formal dancing. We decided to give it a try a few weekends a go---and had a blast. At first I was a little weirded out by the eclectic mix of people (including 2 men in skirts), but was won over by the fun of it. It is a fast paced, fun dance, and we're planning to go again next month. The only thing that would make it better would be to have more friends come try it with us! Here's a short video of what it looks like--but unfortunately my camera didn't record the sound, so you can't hear the live band (I love a good fiddle).
