Where did she come from?

Hannah is a bit of a health nut (I think she watched a little too much tv as a kid--too much Captain Carlos and Sesame Street...). Last weekend we went to a pizza buffet and after several slices of pizza and/or brownies, she went back for her very last plate and chose....salad. Not only did she give away most of her Easter candy, every morning she likes to look at the cereal boxes to find out how many vitamins she's getting. This morning, when I asked which cereal she wanted, the first thing she did was grab the frosted mini wheat box and check out the nutrition facts. She noted that it had a lot of iron and asked if she needed iron. I told her that mini wheats has lots of fiber, and that fiber is good for keeping our insides clean. She said, "Like a toilet brush for our insides?"
Yes, Hannah, exactly like that.

She also told me on Sunday that she liked my necklace and would like it when I die.

Hannah is very smart to think ahead like that. If you are bequeathing things, can I have that cool portable kitchen cart when you die?

What a cutie! I can't believe how old she is getting. I was just like that with the Easter candy when I was little . . . I'm sure she will grow out of it by the time she is old enough to appreciate the "medicinal" purposes of chocolate for a woman's emotions!!

Haha, that's so funny!. Isn't it wonderful having an oldest child who will take such good care of you when you're old?!

It's funny. One thing we learned in my nutrition classes etc was that kids watch us so closely. If you are checking the nutritional facts on things, avoiding candy, eating salad and exercising, so will she. Good job mama, you're teaching her well! Just make sure you don't use the words "I'm so ugly" or "I'm so fat" or anything like that around her, because she'll hear it, and start saying that about herself. As for your other kids not eating like that... maybe they watch Christian :o) I really miss you guys! I hope I am as good a mom to my kids as you are to yours! I'm finally getting around to Amiahs room, wish you were closer to help me decorate it (on a budget none the less!)

What a little doll!!! I wish I didn't care for the sweets! Larisa was a lot like that. She still doesn't care that much for candy, but loves baked goods. You can probably find Halloween Candy in her room right now!

I had to laugh out loud on that one! Comments like that stun you as a parent. One time I mentioned that some day I would die and George started crying--much too emotional!
